Court Cutting, M.D., 2007 KSPS Visiting Professor


Court Cutting, MD attended medical school at the University of Chicago. He completed residencies in Otolaryngology (Head and Neck Surgery) at the University of Iowa and Plastic Surgery and Craniofacial Surgery at New York University.  Since 1984 he has been on the faculty of the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at New York University, New York, NY.

Dr Cutting is known worldwide as an expert and innovator in the care of children with facial malformations. As a physician-scientist he leads an NIH-funded research effort in statistical comparisons of curving, three dimensional facial forms using computer graphics. Corollary work has involved the development of a surgical simulator for the correction of major craniofacial malformations. Since 1999, Dr. Cutting has been working in concert with the Smile Train charity to develop training tools to teach cleft lip and palate surgery to doctors in developing countries.
